ABOUT US

Our Mission

To help the youth of our community grow and learn skills, discipline, and leadership in a safe, positive environment through the sport of rugby.

To use rugby as a way to give back to our community and teach our youth a way of life that will allow them to succeed into adulthood.

To be a role model and a place of inclusion for all kids, no matter their background, ethnicity, or financial status.

Our Vision

At Try Time Rugby Club, we will set a standard for rugby in California that will spread across America. We will  grow the sport of rugby to be as mainstream as football. In return, this will allow more scholarship opportunities, send more of our youth to college, and give them additional tools to succeed in life.

HISTORY

In 2010 I had a church rugby group of friends who loved to play around and I was playing for a men’s club in San Diego, Ombac. Then I started working at around 2013 in a gym as a trainer due to some high school kids and families who attended our games, a groups of 6 kids began training with me on skills and working out.

2015 it had grown to 15/20 so we started using a local park and in 2017 we wanted to head in the direction of becoming a club so we began looking forward a venue that could accommodate future growth and formed a parenthesis with Toby Wells YMCA.

Covid hit and all shut down. We took a month to regroups and when city works opened up we began once again using parks all over San Diego and have landed at Voyager park Chula Vista where we are at over 100 kids and counting.
